The fabulously comfortable and delightfully stylish, Misty Lady, is a newly-renovated 1960s wide beam boat full of character. With its own terraced mooring on the Rochdale Canal, this is a great location for exploring the wild and romantic countryside of the Yorkshire Pennines and the beautiful Calder Valley. It is an ideal stop-off if you are walking the Pennine Way.
Newly-renovated with a nod to its sixties heritage, Misty Lady is a very comfortable home-from-home with luxury bedding, a cosy stove and a fully equipped kitchen.
The whole boat is available for your private use. There is a bedroom with a very comfortable double bed and, for additional guests in your party, there is a sofa in the living room that converts into a comfortable double bed. There is a small and perfectly-formed shower room, with shower, toilet and sink. Outside, there is also a shed to store bikes, muddy boots and wet clothing.
We provide luxury bedding, towels and toiletries, as well as fresh eggs, milk, butter, a range of fairtrade tea & coffee and your kitchen essentials. Our guests say that Misty Lady is a real home-from-home!
The boat has its own private mooring with terraced area so you can sit outside and watch the ducks and boats go gently by.
Hebden Bridge lies in the beautiful Calder Valley, surrounded by dramatic moorland and peaceful woodland. Famed for its funky and creative nature and packed with interesting independent shops, Hebden Bridge bustles with a fantastically varied programme of events. This lively small town will not cease to surprise you.
Thoughtful owners have created a beautiful, well-equipped home on the canal. My favourite aspect was the birds - hearing them sing every day to celebrate dawn and sunset - and I loved feeding the ducks and geese from the back of the boat, looking over the canal. There’s a little community of boat dwellers all along the canal and the outside decking is also fab. Hebden is extremely explorable with lots of live music and interesting independent cafes, shops and bars. We were toasty, even in January, due to the stove and heaters.
This boat stay was utterly magical. The boat is beautifully renovated with a real attention to detail that means you can just stay home and delight in each detail whilst you relax. Special thanks for the eggs (home laid?), butter and milk on arrival, and the fairy lights in main room and on the deck when we arrived. Kitchen very well equipped, you could seriously cook here if you wanted. It's less than a 5 minute walk from the town, lovely enough to stay home in, well equipped enough to dress up for a 3 party wedding, which is what we did. I've never been so glad I didn't go to a hotel.
OUTSTANDING! We so enjoyed our stay. Amazing boat, beautifully finished, and fantastic stylish decor. Really warm, clean and comfortable, what more could anyone want? I was considering buying a boat (narrowboat), so wanted to experience what it was like. I was amazed at what you had done with the interior. Wonderful! I also had a good chat, and hitched a ride along the canal with a passing boater, which really sealed the deal. Had such a great time, and I loved Hebden Bridge. Thank you, Andrew
Loved the whole experience, its a totally different lifestyle. Most relaxing break ever. Every little thing thought of and the most comfy bed ever with terrific quality bedding and towels. Early morning and evening visits from the geese and ducks and chats with people passing on the canal bank. So much fun watching the barges negotiate the lock. Lovely boat, lovely people, can't wait to visit again'
